Kitchen Reno- Part 4 (THE SINK I RETURNED LOUBOUTIN'S FOR, SHELVES, LIGHTING & MORE)

Now that the countertops are in, we can add the final touches to make our kitchen complete. The next step at this point is the backsplash. We went with this beveled subway tile and paired it with a clean, white grout. I love the way this turned out! The whites melt together but glistens in the light because of the bevel. It was a pain to install, but so glad we did!

After we installed the backsplash it was time to install the floating shelves. This was probably the most stressful purchase of the entire kitchen. If you've ever priced out decent floating shelves, it can get pricey. I went back and forth on doing something from Shelfology because they are customizable, good quality, clean, and simple. But I couldn't justify spending $1500 on open shelves.

So I went to Etsy. I found these reclaimed wood shelves for a fraction of the price! Most of our kitchen is white or gray, so these shelves really brought some much needed warmth to the space. We had them finished with a clear wax to leave the wood looking as natural as possible. They were super easy to install too, you just drill in the brackets and slide the wood on using the pre-drilled holes.

We already had the sink installed at this stage in the game but this is it. The infamous farmhouse sink I literally returned a pair of Louboutin's for. It was around the same price point and let's be honest, this was 2 years ago. If I would have kept the Louboutin's, I probably still to this day would not have worn them. I also love this Brizo faucet. It was a bit of a splurge but really ties everything together.
