DIY Tie Up Curtain

Our bathroom window needed serious help! We had a temporary shade up for 2 1/2 years! I didn't really want to go out and spend $50+ on a curtain + rod so I decided to DIM! (do it myself ;) )
The curtain:
1. The first thing I did was measure the window. I added 4 inches to the length and 2 inches to the width.
2. I cut the fabric to the measurements
3. Hem sides and bottom, and create a pocket/larger hem on the top for the rod to go through.
The ties:
1. Cut 3.5" strips that are the length of the curtain
2. Sew basic stitch on sides/bottom
3. Pull through to turn inside out, then the stitch will be on the inside.
4. Sew onto BACK of curtain so half drapes over the back and half drapes over the front - I made the mistake of sewing it to the front.

You're all done! Iron and put the rod through! Here's the one I got for $6 from Target. You could also add magnets or buttons to the ties.
